What makes a good sound engineer ?

Here are just some aspects that I've come across the few years that I've been in the business.
Sound engineering is basically service provided to the customer. You offer your expertise for a certain amount of money and be some kind of transparent medium between the artist and the sound on tape. You have to have your own ideas which to present to the customer when needed, but follow THEIR ideas and think of the best way to record them.

What makes a good sound engineer ?

* Good ears
* Reliability is everything
* Good understanding of electric equipment in general and especially sound recording equipment
* Ability to make field repairs, if possible

Sound archive is being created after extensive research conducted by Sound Engineering Academy. This rare collection of anthems is created for those enthusiasts who want to know more about national anthems of various countries. This sound archive fully created by the students in the live and sophisticated recording studio available in the academy campus. The academy hopes that this archive will be useful not only for those who are studying in the academy but also for the common man.

Holland has got the oldest national anthem, its name is "Wilhelmus", written between 1568 and 1572 during the Dutch Revolt, which became the official Dutch national anthem in 1932. Another Interesting fact about national anthem is that in Switzerland national anthem is written and sung in 4 languages.

In canada national anthem is written and sung both in English and French. With regard to canadian national anthem song was originally commissioned by Lieutenant Governor of Quebec Théodore Robitaille for the 1880 Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day ceremony; Calixa Lavallée wrote the music as a setting of a French Canadian patriotic poem composed by poet and judge Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. The lyrics were originally in French and translated into English in 1906.

Our neighbouring country Srilanka also has got national anthems in both Tamil and Sinhala language.

During the launch of this sound archive, Mr. A.R Vishnu, CEO Sound Engineering Academy Trivadnrum has stated that "The collection of national anthems of various countries is not a big task and it contributes only 50% of the whole process. The important thing is how the national songs of these 194 countries are normalized and converted to standard quality audio / output which can cater to all types of media and upload it on the website of Sound Enginering Academy. The whole process of creating this sound archive is happening in the academy studio and fully created by the students who are currently studying in the academy"

As a future venture in the creation of sound archives, Sound Engineering Academy has started the process of collecting voice of 500 eminent malayalee personalities of the century. According the Mr. A.R Vishnu the work with regard to this has already initiated and will be live in the near future.

A national anthem is a patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggles of its people and showcases the country's culture including its diversity. A national anthem is usually recognized by a nation's government as the official national song and archive created by Sound Engineering Academy will be a precious one for students as well as music enthusiasts.
